Our office hours are from; 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Special arrangements for other appointment times can be made.  Every effort will be made to offer you an appointment within 24 hours of your initial call to our office.

If you should have a problem when our office is closed, you can reach Dr. Covert's answering service at (713) 975-1975. The service will take your name, phone number and message. Please tell the operator at least the general nature of your problem and whether or not it is an emergency. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Ordinarily, Dr. Covert is available through the 24-hour answering service. If you cannot reach him, and your situation requires immediate attention, call your family doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

TELEPHONE CALLS AND APPOINTMENTS

We will be happy to answer your questions about office procedures, appointments, insurance claims, and prescription refills. Refills on prescriptions will be handled only during office hours, except in emergencies. If you need to speak to Dr. Covert personally, leave your name, phone number and the reason for your call with the receptionist. Ordinarily, there will be no charge for a telephone consultation; however, if your situation cannot be handled by a brief telephone discussion, you will be asked to make an office appointment.

Twenty-four hour notice during regular office hours is required to avoid charges for cancellation of all office visits. Cancellations of Monday appointments must be made prior to noon on the preceding Friday.

Consultations, Referrals and Medical Records

Occasionally, your medical history may prompt Dr. Covert to seek the opinion of another medical specialist. If you have been under the care of another doctor, please let Dr. Covert know.

A physical examination may be recommended in order to rule out underlying medical illnesses and to clear you for taking medication that Dr. Covert may prescribe for you. If you do not have a family doctor and have not had a recent physical, we will provide a referral for you.
Your medical record is confidential and will generally not be released without written authorization.

Our office is conveniently located in Southwest Houston near the Galleria at 2 Bering Park, 800 Bering Drive, Suite 202, between Woodway Avenue and San Felipe. Ample free parking is available in front of the building. Covered parking is available on the 2nd floor of the parking garage accessed from the south side of the building. Security patrol and delicatessen are also present on site.
