Dr. Covert provides therapy to individuals, couples and families, including children and adolescents (particularly those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). We are able to provide the latest and most advanced computerized psychological and occupational testing right here in our offices. Having this capability speeds diagnosis and enhances the efficiency and appropriateness of your treatment. We provide a full range of psychiatric services including individual outpatient psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, biofeedback, and referral for hospitalization (when necessary).

If Dr. Covert prescribes medication for you, the risks and benefits of the medication, how it works and the possible side effects will be discussed. Written material prepared by the American Medical Association about the medication will be given to you. We encourage you to ask questions. The combination of therapy, medication and frequency of appointments will depend upon Dr. Covert's diagnosis of your condition and its severity. Psychiatric research has documented that patients who receive both psychotherapy and psychotropic medication have better results than those receiving one or the other. The results of psychiatric treatment are dependent upon your active cooperation and best efforts and cannot be predicted. Patients with self-destructive or assaultive tendencies must make an agreement with Dr. Covert to give up those behaviors as a way of solving problems as a specific pre-condition of treatment.
